What is unaccompanied minor service?
Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be unaccompanied minors. The airline provides a service to assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination. Children under five years old must travel with an adult over 18 years of age or with their biological parents. Children ages five to 11 must travel with a passenger at least 12 years old. If the child is not traveling with an adult of the appropriate age, then he or she must use unaccompanied minor service.
