Umbilical Cord blood, commonly called ‘cord blood’ is the blood that remains in the umbilical cord and placenta following birth of your baby. The umbilical cord is routinely discarded with the placenta and umbilical cord. Your baby’s umbilical cord blood is a loaded with stem cells, which are genetically unique to your baby and family. The cord tissue is the tissue constituting the umbilical cord after removal of the cord blood.
