What is UDC doing that’s different from what we currently do?
Our previous one stop shop for business development was essentially a brokerage model to make it easier for employers to find a contact within the University. It has been successful in raising our profile and generating an increase in business enquiries. However, this model doesn’t allow us to standardise service levels, which is crucial if we are to significantly grow our employer engagement business in the face of competition from new market entrants, including the private sector. UDC will establish a new, empowered model that will give priority to excellent customer service. For example, as well as using subject specialists in faculties, UDC will also be able to guarantee delivery through a pool of highly qualified, quality assured associates in a range of disciplines.
