UChicago Argonne, LLC is an entity created by the University of Chicago to be solely responsible for the management of the Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory. The University of Chicago has managed Argonne since 1946. The University of Chicago is the only member of UChicago Argonne, LLC. The new organization will benefit greatly from partnerships with Northwestern University and the University of Illinois, which are represented on both the Argonne Board of Governors and the Board’s Science Policy Council.
