The COPA Program for both the Silver Wings and Gold Wings Plans does not provide coverage for acts of terrorism. However, with respect to the United States only, the Government of the United States by virtue of the “Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002 as amended (“TRIA”) requires that your insurer must offer you the right to purchase terrorism coverage for losses arising out of acts of terrorism, as defined in Section 102 (1) of the Act, as amended. Coverage applies only to an “Act of Terrorism” occurring out of exposures within the United States. The coverage is optional. In the Silver Wings and Gold Wings application form there is a section which you must complete as to whether you accept or decline the coverage. Under the Silver Wings Plan if you elect to take the coverage, the premium charge is an additional 100 percent of the total aircraft liability charge made for your basic liability insurance.
