When you are new to a band you shouldn’t’ really go for their best album, but the best album in terms of that which will best introduce you to the band, plus most bands like Tool usually have ignored best albums that only true fans notice as the most talented album (example Nine Inch Nails most talented albums are The Downward Spiral and The Fragile but most fans like Pretty Hate Machine and With Teeth the most). Tool’s best work is Lateralus but you should probably start out with 10,000 Days because it will introduce you best and it has the songs you desire, Vicarious and Jambi.
