Tonsillitis is a very painful and nasty infection in the throat. It is also known as strep throat. Tonsillitis starts off with a sore throat, headache and fever. You may notice that your tonsills have white pus on them. This is the start of the infection which is caused by bacteria. Most tonsillitis clears up on its own, but there is cases that need a course of 10 day antibiotics. Tonsillitis is very painful and very different from just a sore throat, if the throat starts to swell or get so painful that you can’t swollen then you need to seek medical advice immediately.
