What is tin plating used for?
Tin plating in mainly used to improve solderability. Some material types are unsolderable but once they are tin plated they can be easily soldered. Tin is a soft coating and fairly ductile. Tin has useful electrical properties and conducts electricity very well. Tin (Sn) Thermal Conductivity (W/mK) 65 Density (gm/cc) 7.28 CTE (ppm/deg C) 20 Some popular tin braze and solder alloys include: Gold Tin Silver Tin Bismuth Tin Indium Tin INTA Technologies Corp. is RoHS compliant and does not work with tin alloys containing lead. We also do not accept lead substrates or lead plated substrates into the facility.
