What is Thyme?
Thyme is a culinary herb native to Southern Europe, and used widely in European cuisine. It has a faintly lemony flavor which goes well with vegetables, poultry, fish, meats, stuffings, and sauces, and is available in both fresh and dried form at many markets. Thyme can also be grown in a windowsill herb garden with relative ease, as it enjoys full to partial sun and relatively dry soil. In addition to use as a culinary herb, thyme also makes an excellent aromatic ground cover for gardens, as it has a creeping growth habit and will spread rapidly in the right spot in the garden.
