What is this weird error about ckserve not running on my machine?
The security software used by PaqRat is called CrypKey. I bought it–I didn’t write it–so I cannot control everything about it. One major problem is this “ckserve” error. This error occurs when you run PaqRat on machines running the NT version family, including Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Despite what the error message says, it actually has nothing to do with your network. To fix it, run the Start menu command called “Windows NT/2000/XP Drivers” (or something like that). A box will briefly open and appear to do nothing, but when you run PaqRat again, that error should be fixed. If I had any control over the software, I would fix it myself, but I don’t. I apologize for the inconvenience of this extra step. p.s. It has come to my attention that some people are not having the file CKS.EXE installed on their machines along with the rest of PaqRat.
