What is this a definition of… ” An ill wind, that nobody blows any good!”?
As I remember it the saying was that ‘An ill wind blows no good’ or ‘It is an ill wind that blows no good’. They both refer to the fact that true misfortune, evil or badness occurs when it is pure. In other words, when no good is happening, that is, it is all bad, then it can be nothing but BAD. From this, we are either supposed to be warned that when things are bad then we should expect no good to come our way or more optimistically, things have to get pretty bad for it to be totally bad, hence some good is always possible not matter how bad it seems.
