What is thermoforming process ?
A thermoforming process begins with selection of a suitable thermoplastic sheet or film. This strata is heated so that the plastic sheet becomes highly flexible and stretchable but still retains sufficient strength to withstand gravitational force. Negative / positive pressure is required to force the sheet conform to the surface of a mould. The formed sheet must be cooled to become rigid again and finally the excess material around the component must be trimmed off.
