Thermazene cream is a topical antimicrobial drug used to prevent and treat wound sepsis on patients with second and third degree burns. What are the Pros? Sufficient data has been shown that Thermazene silver sulfadiazine cream will inhibit bacteria that are resistant to other antimicrobial agents and that the compound is superior to sulfadiazine. What are the cons? The use of Thermazene cream in some cases of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficient individuals may be hazardous, as hemolysis may occur. How often should I use Thermazene cream? For best results, thermazene should cover burn areas at all times. The cream should be applied once to twice a day to the approximate thickness of 1/16″. If any areas of the treated area should be removed by physical activity to cream should be re-applied.
