What is there to do on weekends here at Maryland? Does everyone go home?
Maryland is by no means a suitcase school and there are endless things to do on the weekends! On campus, the Student Union has a variety of offerings, including a 550 seat movie theater, a bowling alley, a billiards center and video game arcade. The University also sponsors Weekends at Maryland which provides fun alternatives to students on weekends. The town of College Park is home to a variety of restaurants and shops. In addition to the campus sporting events, students also attend games for Major League Baseball’s Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles, as well as the NBA’s Washington Wizards and the WNBA’s Washington Mystics. We are in close proximity to both Baltimore and Washington to see shows and attractions.
