What Is There to Do on Marco island?
Located on the southwest coast of Florida along the Gulf of Mexico and the largest of the area’s 10,000 barrier islands with 24 square miles, Marco Island has developed over the last 40 years into a popular visitor destination. It offers a wide range of recreation opportunities, eco-tourism, eclectic shopping, fine dining, festivals and events. Founded by William Thomas Collier in 1870, it passed to the Mackle Brothers and the Deltona Corporation to develop the island with amenities, golf clubs, marinas, hotels and residences.
