What is there to do in Storm Lake?
The lake from which the community gets its name is the focus for much that goes on in the area. As the site for homes and recreation, Storm Lake draws visitors to its shore-lined parks. Camping, boating, fishing and winter sports center on the lake. Swimming, golf, tennis, bowling, miniature golf and variety of other sports activities are abundant in Storm Lake. The local schools and colleges are centers for spectator sports and individual fitness activities. Cultural activities include community theater, high school and university performances, library, historical museum, art gallery and exceptional touring productions at BVU sponsored by both the University and the area arts council. Seasonal attractions and events include the Living Heritage Tree Museum, the Harker House, July Fourth “Star Spangled Spectacular,” the Great Iowa Balloon Race on Labor Day weekend and Santas Castle.
