It will be painfully hot. During the rest of the year outdoor activities abound, but not now. You have two options – get out of town or plan in door activities. Out of town, day trips to Sedona, Jerome, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon are all good options. Good mountain hiking options exist. Your resort may try to sell you on desert jeep rides – do not do this it will be too hot even at night. Daily boat rentals are available at both Lake Pleasant, or better at Bartlette Lake. In side, there will be bargains available for spa treatments. You could plan to spend days in a spa/gym at a local resort (day rates available) and hit Mill Avenue in Tempe at night (filled with ASU students) or bars in downtown Scottsdale (a bit older and more expensive) The Heard Museum is a good unique attraction with exceptional Native American Art – items you will not be able to see any where else.

Daytime – the mall. Shop! We have great shopping & dining, but it’s hot until say, October so doing things where there’s A/C is a must! We have great shopping at outdoor malls too (Kierland Commons, Borgata, Scottsdale Quarter) – but again, they’re OUTSIDE. Personally, I’d punch in Old Towns zip code & go to yelp.com to find good dining near bars you’d like to try out – Scottsdale is known for it’s nightlife. We have SOOOOO many clubs. If you get there early enough to beat the lines & have the money for cover – you could bar hop & figure out the one that fits you best. Many have drivers to take you back & forth (tips only). Start researching – you could easily go to Scottsdale Fashion Square to shop….walk to Digestif or Olive & Ivy (or Sauce) for a meal…..then walk/cab to the clubs……& end up at the Philadelphia Sandwish Co after the bars close at 2′ for a fun place to hang & eat (open 24 hrs). Have a blast!!!
