The closest beach is Cocoa beach, about 45 minutes to an hour drive away. It’s not the most beautiful beach, but is the closest. I take my kids there frequently and is a nice place to drive if you want to experience the beach for a day while here. Mardi Gras is going on at Universal Studios every Saturday night through April 19. Expect large crowds on those days, though. It’s totally crazy. EPCOT’s flower and garden festival will also be going on during April.
