What is THEA?
THEA (the Texas Higher Education Assessment) is a written exam that measures academic proficiency in reading, writing and math and satisfies the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirement for assessment in these basic skills. It is offered on a regular basis throughout the year and the fee is $29. COMPASS is an alternative test that also satisfies TSI requirements. It measures the same skills at the same level as does THEA. It is a computerized exam, is offered daily in the OC Testing Center and the fee for initial tests is $29, or $10 per section if youre retesting. For information on how TSI requirements apply to you, please call the OC Help Center at 335-6433 or click here.
