What is the Yorkshire Rifle Association?

The Yorkshire Rifle Association is a non-profit organisation for fullbore (7.62mm) target rifle shooting in the county of Yorkshire. It is affiliated to the National Rifle Association which is based at the National Shooting Centre, in Bisley, Surrey. Its members are mainly interested in competitive fullbore target rifle shooting, that is, single shot rifles firing at circular paper targets. There are several civilian rifle clubs affiliated to the YRA. THE YRA IS AN AMATEUR ORGANISATION RUN BY A COMMITTEE FORMED FROM THE AFFILIATED CLUBS. It is not a full-time sporting body. It has no HQ like the NRA.
