What is the yellow foamy substance my dog is throwing up?
You do not have to take your dog to the vet. If it sounds like your dog is hacking up a hairball and throwing up foamy bile numerous times, it has kennel cough. It’s not necessarily from a kennel, but it is highly contagious and it is easily transfered in kennels. Another name for it is bordetella. Google it and see if your dog has the same symptoms. Most hunting/dog supply stores (not Petco, Pet Supplies Plus, etc) have vaccines that you can give your dog. These include rabies shots, parvo shots, brodetella, etc. The name of the vaccine that I give my dogs is Intra-Trac3® for bordetella. It comes with a needle, a bottle of medine powder, and a bottle saline solution to mix. The supplier will tell you how to mix them using the needle, which is very easy. Don’t worry, you don’t have to give your dog a shot. You get a different needle end with it.
