What is the Xen hypervisor?
The Xen hypervisor software is the intelligence behind our virtualised environment. It assigns server resource (CPU, memory and disk space) to each VPS, and handles the important security aspects involved with partitioning a server. The Xen hypervisor has been tuned to optimise the delivery of VPS hosting, whereby each VPS is aware that it is operating within a virtualised environment (“paravirtualisation”). The result is performance that rivals that of a dedicated server (referred to as “near-native”), making it the fastest and most secure virtualisation technology available today.
