What is the Wyoming Colorectal Cancer Screening Program?
The WCCSP is the newest program added to the Wyoming Comprehensive Cancer Control Program. Wyoming is one of only six programs such as this in the nation. The purpose of the WCCSP is to increase screening for colon cancer and to decrease the number of Wyomingites who are diagnosed and die from colon cancer each year. The WCCSP is a pilot program. This means that evaluation is being completed to see if this type of program works and whether we should sustain the program into the next budget year. In order to carry out the program there are eligibility requirements. Not everyone who applies will be eligible. What type of screening does the WCCSP offer? The WCCSP offers the colonoscopy.
