What is the worst time of year to visit Lijiang, weather-wise?
Many travelers and residents would agree that high summer, from late July through September, is the most unpleasant time to visit. Rains are heavy, mountains are hidden in clouds, sunshine is sparse and poor for photographs, the weather is often chilly, and roads can be difficult to navigate. The winter months, from December through February, can be rather cold and the scenery is less colorful, although the abundant sunshine and dry weather may make winter ideal for hikers and some other travelers.
