The teachers didn’t seem to care. Grade school, middle school and especially high school.

I remember in 4th grade me and my older sister had the same door to line up behind and one time she yelled “Hey everyone my sister put jellybeans down her pants and ate them last night” and of course a small school everyone nows everyone…

Being ostracised by kids I grew up with because they found out I was born overseas. There was a horrible wall of prejudice against the British migrants who came to our school because of the hostel nearby. One little girl was driven to a mental breakdown by the attacks of other girls. These kids were only 10 years old! Because I happened to be British born, despite my parents just happening to have married overseas, I got lumped in with the migrant kids. From then on, my only friends were British, with one exception. When the principal nominated me for Captain in year 6, I got four votes, from the four British kids in the class. It was a horrible time. Friends came and went as they moved on. These kids would fight with me (even physically once) for being friends with the British kids. When they would have a falling out, one or two would come to me and ask to be friends, then turn on me as soon as they made up with their group again. The only good thing about Primary School was the class
