What is the worlds most precious metals?
Platinum is more precious than gold, as is the related metal osmium, and these would be the most precious. But there are certain other rare metals that would be more valuable than either, on a gram for gram basis (for example the rare earth metals such as cerium), which are used in special applications (eg, making semi-conductors); but they are not regarded as precious. Most expensive of all would be the trans-uranium metals such as lawrencium, which existed only for a few seconds in a particle accellerator, and could be said to have cost millions of dollars to produce a few atoms.
