The song “Thick As A Brick” by Jethro Tull is just under 45 minutes long. It was released as an album and had a proper album tour, the band still performs a reduced version (varying between 5 and 25 minutes) in live performances these days. Another song by the same band “A Passion Play” was also released but had less success, although many fans of Jethro Tull still enjoy this album as much. I am pretty certain that some band somewhere will have released a 5 day long song or something as a gimmick but I am sure that “Thick As A Brick” is probably the longest commercially successful song by a (at the time) mainstream popular band.
