What is the “Works of the Law” (Rom 3:20) Paul refers to in his writings?
The Works of the Law is a book. It was the Miqsat Ma’ase ha Torah. In Greek, this was rendered “ergon nomou” and in English it is “Works of the Law.” It was lost for 1900 years. The Dead Sea Scrolls contained a copy. That copy was translated by professors Qimron and Strugnell. A paper has been written on its significance for NT exegesis. The paper is The Works of the Law Text – or MMT (No. 104). The original text and the translations are also available from CCG.
