What is the Woodrow Wilson School?
The School of Public and International Affairs, as it was originally named, was founded at Princeton in 1930. As its name suggests, it was created to prepare students for leadership in public and international affairs. In 1948 the School’s graduate program was established and the School was renamed to honor former Princeton President, and former U.S. President, Woodrow Wilson. In September 2005, the Woodrow Wilson School celebrated 75 years of preparing talented individuals for careers in the service of the nation and the world. Today, the School offers a distinctive inter-disciplinary undergraduate program and three graduate courses of study: a two-year, full-time, residential Masters in Public Affairs program; a one-year, intensive, mid-career Masters in Public Policy program; and a rigorous Ph.D. program.
