What is the wireless LAN IEEE 802.11 specification?
802.11 is a committee of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), an international standards organization. This committee promotes various wireless local area network (LAN) standards for the computer internetworking community. In particular, the current 802.11b working group has defined a very popular standard that is being rapidly deployed within many commercial networks.
