What is the wildlife of Mozambique like?
The main attraction of Mozambique is its tropical beaches and warm waters. Due to the civil war in Mozambique, its prolific herds of wildlife have been significantly reduced. The Bazaruto Archipelago is, however, home to over 80% of all marine fish families of the Indo Pacific. Common, spinner and bottlenose Dolphin, as well as the endangered dugong all make the archipelago waters its home. Whale sharks are also frequent in the summer months. In the remote Gorongosa National Park, you might be able to spot Lion and several small Elephant herds.
