What is the wet strength of a wound dressing?
Wet strength is an important attribute of alginate dressings, as it is a way of determining how effectively a dressing may absorb fluid and yet remain in one piece for easy removal from the wound bed. Samples are soaked in fluid, blotted dry, and then mounted in a tensile testing machine.
