What is the well spacing?
Well spacing is regulated by the OGC and will be determined by the stage of exploration, evaluation or development, coal bed geology and completion technology. OGC policy currently states that there may only be one production well approved per quarter section on private agricultural and leased agricultural land. However, wells drilled in the evaluation phase may require modified spacing for a short-term duration until the resource potential is established. In each case the OGC must authorize all operational aspects of the temporary activity.
