What is the weirdest or most exotic food youve eaten?
I love to eat random things. The way I figure it, if it’s part of somebody’s cuisine, then people can eat it. If they can eat it, I can eat it. I always order the strangest thing I can on the menu. I once had something in a Chinese restaurant which had a seafood item I couldn’t identify. It was like a scallop, but it was a perfect hemisphere. (The menu was entirely in Chinese; I just pointed at something at random. This was in San Francisco’s Chinatown.) But the weirdest thing I ever ate was something I cooked myself. During the 17-year-cicada cycle (not this past one, but the one before that) we collected a number of the bugs, cooked ’em up with taco seasonings, and ate them. It was pretty good, actually. Tasted kinda like pistachios. I’ve eaten everything else on your list except camel. Not sure what a “ballut” is, though.
