At present, RMIT’s web site is hosted on a number of different machines across the university, with some content even on people’s desktop computers. Much information is out of date, each area’s site is structured differently and some areas do not have a web presence at all. Across 2001-2002, RMIT University is moving to a new Web publishing system. This is accompanied by a separate re-branding exercise that will give the web site a new look and feel. The new system and the project to implement it will create a much more comprehensive, accurate and easier to use web presence for RMIT. The Web Refurbishment Project is coordinated through LTS and is governed by a steering committee with representatives from across the university. More information on the steering committee can be found in ‘Where do I get more information?’ A prototype web site has been created at http://new.rmit.edu.au/ for people to begin working with the new systems. It should be borne in mind when looking at this site t
