What is the weather like?
Historical average highs/lows are as follows: Jan 54/27, Feb 55/27, Mar 57/28, Apr 62/32, May 69/37, Jun 78/44, Jul 83/51, Aug 82/51, Sep 78/47, Oct 70/39, Nov 60/31, and Dec 55/27. Be prepared for both average and abnormal conditions. In the cold months, most of your time will be spent indoors. The building is well-heated. Fall in London is similar to fall in the U.S. It is generally cooler, often rainy or cloudy. The winter months can become quite cold in December. Summer in both London and Dublin is slightly cooler than summers in Philadelphia. Temperatures in Europe in the spring are similar to U.S. spring temperatures.
Georgetown may look sunny, but the temperatures stay cold and it is usually windy. It is very tolerable if you dress warmly. We hold our events regardless of weather, so be prepared. You will have to be out of the vehicle and away from the heater at least a few times during the day (registration, driver’s meeting, etc…
Weather ideal for grapes is also ideal for people. Sonoma has a Mediterranean-type climate with mild winters and warm summer days with cool nights. Average annual rainfall is 30 inches and occurs primarily between November and March. Spring is from March to June and temperatures range from the low 50s to almost 80 degrees in the daytime. Night-time temps are in the 40s and 50s by May and June. Summer daytime temperatures usually range from 75 to 95 and cool to an average of about 55 degrees at night. There is almost no rain and an abundance of sun and pleasant breezes. Fall begins in late September with high temps in the upper 70s and November highs in the 60s. Evenings are in the upper 40s to low 50s. Winter daytime highs are in the upper 40s to upper 50s and the average low is about 40 degrees.
It is warm here by just about anyones standards. The late fall through early spring months are generally considered warm and comfortable by all guests. Depending on where you are coming from, you might find our summer months pretty hot at times. The HAMlet has a lot of shade and is many degrees cooler than outside during the heat of the day, though. We also have a fan or two available for those particularly hot weeks. The bedroom has a window air conditioning unit that can be activated for a nominal extra fee covering the cost of our expensive island energy. If you are very sensitive to hot weather, be sure and check with Jody for an accurate prediction of what temperatures you can anticipate during the time you would like to visit the islands. • What about the food and water ? The island has a very well stocked IGA story that should have everything you need in the way of food. In addition, there are plenty of restaurants on the island.
