The following are general guidelines based on our experience and are by no means a guarantee of what conditions will be like during your stay. On Panama’s Caribbean coastline expect warm weather with highs in the 80’s and 90’s and lows 70’s. It rarely rains from the middle of December to the end of April. This is the summer/dry season (“verano”) with excellent sunny weather most of the time. It is also when winds are strongest. The strong winds keep the bugs away but can sometimes make boat navigation rougher than normal. The diving is generally good but more challenging because of the winds and can sometimes affect visibility. If you are coming to Coral Lodge just for scuba diving we recommend May to November. This is known as the rainy/green season (“invierno”). The “green season” is probably the best time to be in Panama for a real tropical rain forest experience. Outdoor activities do not stop and you don’t get cold. The general pattern is for rain 4 – 5 times a week, normally for

Winters are cold and sunny, summers are warm and sunny. There are about 250 sunny days a year. The average January temperatures are around -5C in the valleys and ski resort. Average summer temperatures vary between 14C and 19C. The air is crystal-clear and fragrant with the smell of pines. Chill mineral water gushes down mountain streams abundant in trout. There is no dust or air pollution and the atmosphere abounds in ultraviolet rays.

Our stormy and often exciting Winters with temperatures ranging from the mid 30’s at night to upper 50’s by day are followed by incredible Springs which bring the Mendocino Coast to life. Our beautiful coastal gardens burst with color and days alternate between rainy, and clear and sunny, with temperatures moving up into the low to mid 60’s. Often we’ll get a warm spell around April and have seen the thermometer creep towards the mid 70’s! Summer patterns are thick coastal morning and evening fog, that sometimes stays all day and brings the temperature down to the high 50’s. By Fall the fog has lifted and we enjoy clear sunny days with temperatures approaching the low 70’s with crisp nights dropping to the 40’s. Our Summer and Fall weather is so mild that air conditioning is not a requirement. Check Mendocino weather right now.
