June is normally the hottest month in the Ardeche with temperatures often in the mid 30’s. Although high 20’s are usual. Note that it is always hotter in the gorges as the limestone walls and rivers make them little ovens so you can often get an extra 5 degrees or so on top! Winds are also picking up in June with the mistral blowing up from the south (why it gets so hot). Don’t count out the odd thunderstorm though (always possible) but they usually stay up in the mountains and offer a great lightning show at night.
