What is the weather like in Southern California during fall time?
Just as summer unofficially begins Memorial Day, Fall unofficially begins Labor Day. Officially, it begins Sept. 21. Generally, Fall starts out pretty hot, as it’s really a continuation of summer. If the Santa Ana winds blow, it gets rather unbearable, into the 100’s. With any luck, it cools down after the first week of October, but last year it stayed into the 80’s and 90’s all the way to November. On average, it cools off to the 60’s and 70’s by October 1st. Not much chance of rain until late October or early November. It’s a great time to visit SoCal. Crowds at tourist attractions are long gone, there are no lines, and hotel rates go way down.
