Very Wet….Ketchikan gets between 13 to 15 feet of rain in a year. And about 3 feet of that is in September and October. So bring some nice rain gear. But if are looking for something to do while you are there you should think about one of the nature tours. I know of one that is pretty cool. The City & Nature Tour — starts downtown and continues eight miles south to Herring Cove estuary. On the way there, the guide narrates, identifying landmarks and giving the guests general information about the surrounding area. At the estuary observation area, the guide makes one-on–one time with the guests to ensure he answer any specific questions they may have about the wildlife, other aspect about Ketchikan or Alaska. This provides good opportunities for viewing bears, seals, eagles, sea lions, reindeer, salmon and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Though we do not guarantee wildlife, as the animals keep their own time and sightings are unpredictable, we do see wildlife out there on mos
