What is the weather like different times of the year?
No matter what the weather, our mineral pools are always very enjoyable. We keep the pools a little cooler in the summer and a litter hotter in the winter. There are shades over many of the pools during the summer. The shades are removed in the evening for star gazing. Remember we are at an elevation of 5,000 ft. Silver City’s motto is “Four Gentle Seasons.” We always think Autumn is the most ideal time of the year. The days are warm and sunny and the evenings are cool. Winter is also usually delightful. The days are usually warm and sunny. It cools down in the evening and often freezes at night. We usually have a light snow two or three times a year. It is beautiful but doesn’t last long. We also usually have one or two cold snaps each winter when the night time temperature can reach as low as 15F. Spring is usually blustery. It is often windy and sometimes very windy.
