What is the weather/climate like in Oklahoma during FreeWheel?
FreeWheel has been scheduled during a time when we hope weather conditions will be pleasant, but in the event of foul weather the tour continues. Come prepared for all types of weather including rain, wind, and heat. Daytime temperatures can range from the mid 80’s to the low 100’s. Low to mid-90 daytime highs are common. Cyclists camping out can generally expect temperatures to drop to the 70s at night or as low as the mid-50’s should a cold front move through. Rain and wind can create seemingly cold temperatures for the unprepared. So bring along rain gear. Daytime temperatures could be as high as 100 degrees and even on cloudy days the sun’s rays can burn your skin and irritate your eyes. Wear sunglasses, apply sunscreen frequenly, and drink plenty of water to avoid sunburn and dehydration.
