What is the WBO scholarship and how do I apply?
Since 1989, WBO has awarded an annual scholarship to a woman who is resuming her education to re-enter the workforce or changing her career and needs some financial assistance. The scholarship is awarded in conjunction with Montgomery College and is presented at our annual Gala. More Information. • Can I deduct my dues and other contributions? Women Business Owners of Montgomery County is recognized by the IRS as a Section 503(c)(6) non-profit organization covering business leagues. Contributions or gifts to WBO-MC are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. However, they may be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses. • What publications does WBO have? A quarterly newsletter The Networker; a monthly meeting reminder flyer; an annual business directory; a web site; an annual Gala program and networking referral directory; and the WBO brochure. We also send regular email broadcasts alerting members to events of interest.
