During the summer months, the water is bathtub warm, approaching 85F. You often don’t even need a wetsuit at all. During the winter months, it cools down significantly, and you often find temperatures dipping into the mid-to-high 60s at the deeper locations. If you’re diving during the winter months, you’ll want your 5mm wetsuit if you have one. A shorty won’t keep you warm. In the summer, a shorty is fine, or just a swimsuit, depending on how deep you’ll be diving. Q: WHAT IS THE VISIBILITY LIKE? A: The best visibility is found during the summer months, when visibility can reach 100-130 feet. During the winter months, you’ll find it to be about 40-60 feet.
