A Duty of Care:Waste Transfer Note (WTN) is a legal document which, under the law, every business is required to have. The document serves to cover the business and the owner under the Environmental Protection Act of 1990 in relation to business or trade waste and proves that the business/owner disposes of or transfers their waste in legal and responsible manner. The document is valid for a certain period of time, usually 1 year, and must be retained and producible by the owner/business for a period of 2 years after expiry.
