What is the warranty on my brass door hardware?
The hardware is warranted the same as the product itself. The solid brass hardware used on some Pella® products has a clear protective coating that helps prevent tarnishing. However, the coating can lose its effectiveness due to any of the following: • Scraping from rings or house keys during every day use • Transferring of paint thinners • Lotions or other reactive products from hands • Ammonia-based cleaners • Salt spray. The result is oxidation (or tarnishing). This tarnishing should not affect the operation of the hardware.
