What is the Walkway of Lights?
The Christmas City Walkway of Lights is a four-mile, drive-through light display along Marion’s Riverwalk. More than two million lights are used in the displays depicting holiday themes. Follow the lighted snowflakes on the street lights along SR 18 east of downtown Marion to the first of the displays near the Mississinewa River. At the finale located in Matter Park, stop in the Gift Shoppe to finish your holiday gift-buying and enjoy a cup of coffee or cappuccino next to the blazing fire. The Christmas City Walkway of Lights comes to life on the Saturday before Thanksgiving each year. The lighting ceremony is preceeded by the annual Christmas City Parade and Winter fest in downtown Marion.
