The Walk Through the American Revolution on campus field trip is an is a historial interactive participatory activity that fifth grade students can participate in when in the 5th grade. Students are asked to memorize small parts of a past American historical person or an idea of a special Act that had taken place in colonial times. Students have the option to dress in their character to add gain more points for their teams. Students also participate in mock historical battles of colonial times. There are a total of three in the presentation. Students will also learn and perform two American traditional songs from the colonial era. This is a wonderful experience and students gain a much richer idea of how colonies and the colonist lived in colonial times. Students also learn about famous American, British, French and European leaders that participated in the war and hindered or helped America earn her right to be a free country and establish a stong constitution for the people.
