The scheme aims to promote international co-operation, friendship and understanding among Member Organisations of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Member Organisations with higher incomes pledge funds to support projects run by those in poorer countries. Past projects have focused on issues such as literacy, rights awareness, self-esteem and health.
