I looked it up earlier and it seems diborane is a dimer substance B2H6 with the Hydrogen atom of one of the pair of BH3 forming a dative covalent bond on the other B atom in the dimer. This gives a `twisted` shape, with the two H-B bonds on the two ends making 120o and the other H-B bonds making 97o See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diborane I haven`t looked further but can see no independant existence of BH3, BCl3 and BF3 are certainly trigonal planar.
